GIRLS:

I feel that as a supporter of Rotherham United L.F.C for over 4 years and Manager of our promotion team of 2006-2007, I feel that I am in a position to comment on our early season “progress” in the Northern Division of The National Womens League.
I use the word “progress” purposely as that's exactly what we have achieved after being in the Midland Combination League for such a long period in our history.
It has not been easy for anyone within the club, right from the start of our fixtures, with the first being at home to Stockport County, as no one has had any experience of this league, on or off the park.
Everyone had to try and learn and learn quickly, how to cope with what the new adventure threw at us. Some have learnt quicker than others, and most of you are still learning.
Decisions have been made, some good, some bad, and all of you have experienced the results of what happens when you pick the “wrong option”.
In this league, you get punished for just about all your errors, on the park and from the bench, but without your “togetherness”you will not survive.
You do not become a bad team overnight and the experience of last season should and will take you forward, so long as you know how to come together and use that experience against what your feelings are now, after this seasons mixed start.
I have every confidence in you all as I can see that slowly but surely, you are learning, but it's very important that you don't loose sight of how you got there last season, you all pulled together and never alienated one of your “own” be it a player or a manager, or a coach, or a secretary or a supporter or anyone involved that really cares for you and the club.
Rest assured, maybe some people have got it wrong sometimes, but they ALL care and that includes people like me who travel the country to watch and support you in anyway that I can.
Do not give up listening and learning from any source that offers you advice with the aim of becoming a better player and a better person and things will get better.

Paul.

I've uploaded half of the thousand piccies I took to facebook (will be putting the rest on later cos it won't let me do em for some reason!). I've also added as many of you that I could find as a friend so you can see them, but if i haven't managed to find you all then just look me up and add me (Danielle Green)! I'm wearing a red t-shirt and sporting a cheesy grin! (That's on my facebook pic, not how I'm I'm currently looking! haha!) All that's left to say is 'when and where is the next trip?!! cos I want another Olympic breakfast!' haha! Sees ya all on Wednesday for some Wednesday battering! x
