Rotherham Unitd Ladies raised there game midweek to overcome confident Radcliffe who sit third in the midlands combination league. Four goals from Lynskey saw all three points for the home team.
Rotherham started much the stronger with early shots by Lynskey and Thickitt. the deadlock was broken when the home side was awarded a free kick for a foul on Longstone midway in Radcliffe half. A perfectly delivered free kick by in form Pollock saw Lynskey get on the score sheet for the millers with a perfectly placed header on 20 mins. Radcliffe raised their game and came back at the Millers which saw GK Whiteley pull off two outstanding saves to keep the home side in front. Some great battling from versitile Longstone saw her put Lynskey in for her second just before half time.
Radcliffe half time team talk saw the away side come out determined to make amends for their first half failings. Longstone conceded a free kick on the edge of the Millers box and the kick beat the millers GK to put them firmley back in the game 2 mins after the restart. Radcliffe continued the early pressure making the Millers defenders concede a number of fouls in dangerous positions. Radcliffe leveled within five minutes to leave the millers wondering what had gone wrong. The home side regained their confidence and began to put pressure on the Radcliffe goal. Good work from Woods and Saxon saw Lynskey with the opportunity to retake the lead for the home side. Lynskey made no mistake and rounded the GK to score a tremendous 3rd on 73mins she rounded off a perfect four on 83 mins to see the game out 4 – 2 winneres.
