Match Report:

RULFC Development Squad v Hansworth

The development squad continue their excellent start to the season when they beat Hansworth at Kilnhurst Welfare. The ladies were off to a quick start with the Millers midfield passing the ball around with ease.

Hansworth defence played a high line and after only 3mins Carlton beat the offside and chipped the GK for her first goal. Carlton got her and the millers second after only 11mins and took the wind out of the sails of Hansworth. the opposition defence seemed in dissaray and the Millers went into a 4 – 0 lead at Half time with further goals from Goodman and Rachel Hale.

The ladies continued their pressure at hansworth struggled to cope with the skill and speed of the Millers girls. goals from Tester, Green, Goodman and Smith rounded off a 8 – 0 win to see them top of the table after 5 games

The devlopment squad have a free week this Sunday due to gaining a bye in the league cup

 Dinnington v RULFC Development Squad

The ladies development side gained their third successive victory against a much more experienced Dinnington side. The ladies took Dinnington by surprise as they were both faster and more skillfull. Within 5 mins Rotherham pushed forward with Khan driving into the box only to be brought down by the GK. Rachel Hale took the resulting penalty to put the Millers in front. The game was evenly balanced going into the break, with chances at both ends. the second half saw Rotherham increase their work rate and the midfield of Saxon, Green, Corns and Tester tore the Dinnington defence apart. Tester shot from the edge of the box, hard and low into the left corner of the net. The Millers supported were vocal and encouraged the ladies to push for their third goal. A superbball from Corns saw Teaster turn the defence inside out and shot past the GK for her second and the Millers third. With only 20mins remaining Dinnington changed their formation and began to push the millers back into their own half, and their pressure was rewarded when Bruce headed in to make the score 3 – 1. Dinnington continued to press but Hale and Finch cleared the Millers lines and prevented any further goals. On 85mins Corns was brought down on the edge of the Dinnington penalty area and Tester rounded off her hat trick by converting the resulting free kick. 4 – 1 to the Millers.

They continue thier league games next sunday when they entertain Hansworth at Kilnhurst Welfare
