Rotherham Utd Ladies 4 v 1 Lichfield Diamonds
Rotherham played at home this weekend for the first time since December. The Millers dominated the game from start to finish, with the Lichfield goalkeeper keeping the score line presentable. Two goals a piece from Davis and Lynskey added to Rotherhams fantastic goal difference, but Rotherham conceeded a disappointing penalty late in the game.
Managers comments:
"In a game that we dominated from start to finish, I must be pleased with the way we played open football and created so many chances. If not for some magnificant goalkeeping from the Lichfield number one and some less than average finishing, we could have easily achieved double figures. The system I put out leant heavily towards attack and I just needed the girls to relax and enjoy their football a little more. For long periods we did that and looked good, but we must learn how to kill off the opposition, not only with our football skills, but sometimes with a better mental approach as the game goes on. We are still a very young team, and learning with every game, but sooner or later we'll going to have to be ruthless, if we want to finish off the season like we want to."
