Rotherham had a week off from the pressures of the league, when they travelled to Bradford City Ladies for the 1st round proper of the Womens F.A Cup. Rotherham were reasonably slow to settle, and it took 20 mins before they broke the deadlock with a powerful shot from Thickitt which left the Bradford keeper standing. The goal gave Rotherham the drive they needed, and they stepped up a gear, both defensively and offensively. Rotherham took control for the remainder of the half, and showed Bradford just why the Millers are top of the Midland Combination league with some quality finishing from Lynskey, who netted her hatrick in 15 mins. Wood scored Rotherhams fifth with an excellent head from a Davis cross.

The second half was very disjointed as there were numerous stops to the game due to injury, and changes in personnel from both sides. Rotherham remained on top with many chances to add to their tally, but it wasn't until the 80 minute when Davis headed home a corner.

Managers comments:

"The F.A.Cup was a good distraction for the girls, from the rigors of the league, and I told them to relax and enjoy themselves. They responded with a comfortable victory that helped me give other members of the squad a good run out and also enabled me to rest one or two who were carrying knocks"
